MGM Grand Las Vegas, South Strip
62MGM Grand Hotel, Las Vegas
MGM Grand Las Vegas is not the biggest hotel in the world. It’s only the second-biggest hotel in the world. You could easily fit Rhode Island inside its casino, which is the largest in Las Vegas. Evidently, MGM Grand is not a cozy, intimate locale.
The theme of the hotel is of classic MGM movies with some rooms featuring black-and-white movie-star photos in a stand-out minimalist 1930s setting of glamour. Other rooms are more hotel pedestrian, still others in the West Wing are small but chic, with popular sleek W-style appointments. In spite of what you'd expect the staff of this huge place somehow manages to be attentive to the hotel's guests.
MGM Grand Las Vegas has a fab pool area featuring big bodies of water, a lazy river, with many acres to play in. The Asian Zen spa is a luxurious adult experience. The MGM Grand offers a nice line-up of restaurants: Emeril Lagasse’s New Orleans Fish House, Joël Robuchon at the Mansion and Robuchon’s L’Atelier, the Rainforest Cafe, and Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak, to name a few.
MGM Grand Lions!
If MGM Grand then lions!
The whole property is watched over from the outside by a 4-storey-tall gleaming golden lion, all photo-op ready.
You may also see and take photos with real-life specimens at the Lion Habitat near the monumental statue.
