Westin Casuarina Las Vegas is a true boutique hotel in place of the old seedy Maxim. Although it's not the hippest choice you can make, Westin is by all means a decent brand name. The hotel is an ideal place for business travelers who are not in town to idle away time in awe of all the gleaming wonders of the Sin City.
The new, yet a bit dusty, casino provides a somewhat unpleasant contrast to the streamlined new lobby next door, which is all business-class posh. Rooms are comfy and done in good taste. The gym is decent. There exists a pool and a cafe, and the whole place, except maybe the casino itself, is a non-smoking zone.
In all, Westin Casuarina Las Vegas has nothing to match the class of most Vegas icons. The size is manageable, maybe just what you need, if you need is a smart and sharp accommodation with no Vegas personality, and just enough removed from the heart-of-town distractions so that you can get some constructive work done, yet close enough so that you can get distracted when your work is done.
